Born of an ancient civilisation, Cairo is a vast metropolis centred around the Nile. Its sheer scale can feel overwhelming (especially when flying over it into Cairo Airport), so plan ahead. An obvious starting point are the Giza Pyramids. Although the pharaohs are long gone, the grandeur of their burial pyramids, the Sphinx and Solar Boat are testament to their ambition.
The city’s Egyptian Museum houses a dazzling display of ancient Egyptian artefacts, including finds from Tutankhamun’s tomb in Luxor. Around the corner is Tahrir, a huge square and focal point of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.
East is Islamic Cairo, home to 9th-century Ibn Tulun Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque (site of the world’s oldest university), and the Khan el-Khalili souk – remember to haggle. The Citadel, with its elegant Mohammed Ali Pasha Mosque, sits on a hill offering far-reaching city views.
If you want to step out of cultural tours, take a Nile cruise by felucca, spot wildlife in Wadi Digla desert park or visit Egypt’s top theme parks: Dream Park and Magic Land, where you can tour Egyptian TV studios.
Before heading to your Cairo accommodation, sample the local cuisine – the falafel and fuul (bean paste) are delicious. Turkish coffee is a staple and there are hundreds of shisha bars, while major Cairo hotels have bars serving alcohol.

Depends on where you are from, Cairo could be a whole another universe, as it was with me. After the innitial shock subsides, you start enjoying it. Quite dirty city, it smells bad most of the time. Driving in Cairo is like a survival but they somehow manage to drive "safe".

A must visit cultural heritage. A lot of history associated. People are nice at heart. Pyramids of Giza and the Spinx are the highlights. A number of beautiful mosques, amazing and magnificent museums. Should also visit the markets and the beautiful Nile River. Cairo has so much to offer.

To see the best of Giza and Cairo we would definitely recommend a local guide and driver. They can navigate the busy road system there, and will know all of the best places to visit and eat. The only thing we would avoid next time is exchanging our money to Egyptian pounds... it is better to either use dollars or euros.

Cairo is a must see place, This hotel layout is nice with cottages, but rooms look old and bathrooms need a complete makeover, worn out look, tap in the tub had a leak. House keeping was not up to the mark as they forgot to place coffee and tea sachets. On requesting, it took 2 hours to reach the room. No mini refrigerator in the room. Needs more power plugs for charging devices. Something needs to be done for the mosquitos there after sunset. I stayed in Jaz group hotel in Cairo and Sharm. Both places need to revise their menu to add more international/asian stuff.

Cairo is notoriously chaotic, and has the traffic and noise issues to prove it. But still a splendid place to explore Egyptian history and culture, with iconic landmarks like the Pyramids of Giza and the Nile River. The Egyptian Museum is a must-visit destination when in Cairo, but needs more care and structure update, most of its archaeological treasures are just there displayed without proper care, it was a bit disappointed. The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is a new museum, covering all the different historical periods that encompass Egypt's history and is where the royal mummies are located now. Khan El Khalili Bazaar has a vibrant energy and is an important district for both cultural and economic activity, but be prepared to be harassed by the vendors who may follow you trying to convince to buy in his shop. You can’t go to Cairo and not see the Pyramids of Giza, it's a very popular destination and always busy. You can do it by yourself or hiring a guide. I walked around by myself and it was great since we did in our time and speed, also be prepare to be approached many times for camel or horse rides. Often referred to as the cradle of civilization, Cairo is a trip worth taking once.
Just opened two weeks ago.
Completely new renovated 5 star hotel.
Magnificent view of the pyramids from our room.
Reception : the staff at the reception was very helpful , very kind .
Great thanks to the Director of food and beverage:
the breakfast is of high quality products. The staff was very attentive and the Director was asking our feedback.
Location: you are in king Faisal street facing the pyramids : 6 km of shops, restaurants opened till after midnight , banks, etc
Conclusion: we were very happy to discover this hotel.
The staff was so wonderful. Some of the most friendly people I’ve ever met. They were really helpful with scheduling things to do and making sure all the guests were taken care of.
You really cannot beat this location. Walking distance to many restaurants and the pyramids. You can see the pyramids from the roof. Some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen.
Also the driver the hotel set me up with was the best. He was so sweet and funny. Customs at the airport took forever and he waited for me for an hour with no complaints.
I come from ireland, we booked The Best Veiw Pyramids Hotel. we have the most amazing time here. The rooftop terrace was amazing, front row seats for the lighting show. Breakfast was delightful as was the services. Staff and Hotel was 5 start. I can not recommend enough. We will be back. Great place for meditation and experiencing Giza at it's best. Very safe Hotel and area... Hotel spotless clean. Nothing is to much and everything is possible.. the owner Adam goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is amazing.
Location was convenient and close to airport by Uber. From hotel door to terminal 1 gate in Cairo International Airport, it took only 1 hour. The hotel looks good in photos and at quick glance.
The ballroom looked great. The hotel is more like a small resort with several restaurants in the same building.
Room was clean. Seems like a great place to have a party.
Note my experience is partially biased, comparison is towards hotels in Central and Nordics and East asian hotels.
Very nice hotel , lobby decoration makes you feel you are in Egypt ! with excellent location ,
Hotel staff is really kind , helpfull and friendly Specially Mohamad at front desk . He helped us to arrange transfer from Cairo airport and also tour to Piramids with spanish guide.
Great location if you want to stay near Piramids . We've got the best view from our balcony .
I would recomend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Cairo .
The best location in Cairo downtown, close to the Old Egyptian Museum, several metro stations. There were many shops, restaurants and cafe bars nearby. The building itself has elevator, so that is easy to go to the 6th floor where the hostel is. The breakfast was better than in other downtown hotels in Cairo, and vary every morning! The staff is friendly and does not harass you with travel offers like elsewhere in Egypt. (Thanks!)
The first time I visited Egypt and I was very lucky falcon pyramids inn (this hotel is clean and the service is amazing and the people who work there are always trying to help. I did tourist tours in Giza and Alexandria and they were amazing at a very good price. Many thanks to Mr. Khudari who arranged everything for us and who is one of the best people we know In Egypt, many people thanked him for everything
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, appreciating the excellent service, comfortable bed, polite and helpful staff, varied buffet breakfast, and enjoyable swimming pool with showers available for those who want to hang around after checking out. The free shuttle to the airport very much appreciated! Although it is expensive compared to typical Egyptian prices, it is worth it.
Still my favorite hotel in Cairo. The staff is the prominent advantage of the hotel. They are doing the best of the best for guests comfort. Special thanks to the professional receptionist Ahmad Rabie. The hotel overall environment is exciting there are different restaurants, activities and parties. It's quite and close to the airport.
We were looking for a hotel very near the airport as we had late night and early morning flights, and this hotel was just near to terminal 3 of the Cairo Airport. The Hotel had 5 restaurants which catered to all our needs. The staff were friendly . Overall we enjoyed the stay in this hotel
New hotel in great location with clean and comfortable rooms. The balcony room overlooking Tahir Square was amazing.
Short walk to Egyptian Museum and restaurants. Best value and standard in Cairo.
Wonderful staff - helpful even after we checked out and waiting to go to the airport.
Spotlessly clean and brand new hotel. The location is fantastic - walking distant to the best restaurants in downtown. The reception staff and doormen were great. The rooms (I stayed in two different ones) were comfy and had strong water pressure with hot water 24/7.
The view at breakfast is worth it. The best view of the pyramids. Thanks to that view, you will forget all the minuses of the hotel. The receptionist was very helpful and kind. Breakfast was very tasty by Egyptian standards.😍🙏🫶
Everything was great, the staff are brilliant really friendly and helpful can't say enough good things about the staff and hotel 5 stars in my opinion. If youl looking for the best view of pyramids this is the best choice.
The best hotel all over Cairo with the best staff, breakfast, location and really felt that I am in my home . Special thanks to the staff wish I could stay more but I will come again for sure. Really best hotel in Egypt.
The staff were trying their best but that didn't take away from the fact that this was no 5 star hotel. In fact I have stayed in 3 star Hotels in Dublin that were superior to the Hotel Gabriel Hotel.
Really nice hotel and rooftop terrace with views of the pyramids! The staff were amazing and the manager Gabri is very helpful in organising tours and making you feel welcome in Egypt.
